Members of the public who identify themselves to obtain an internet or online service user account
Personal data collected by the University
Purposes and legal bases for the collection of data
To create user accounts and provide access to the University's services
To provide internet, electronic mail and online services
To store user data and for research and statistical purposes
For service improvement, analysis and public relations
To protect the safety of persons, property and meeting venues
The University will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to achieve the specified purposes. The retention period depends on the purposes for which the data is collected, used or disclosed.
Once the retention period has expired, the University will delete or destroy the personal data, or render it anonymous so that it can no longer identify the data subject.
Your rights under the law on personal data protection
You may request access to, and a copy of, your personal data.
You may withdraw consent you have given at any time.
You may request to receive your personal data or have it transferred to another data controller.
You may request that your personal data be deleted or destroyed in the prescribed circumstances.
You may request that the use of your personal data be suspended in certain circumstances.
You may object to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data.
You may request that your personal data be corrected so that it is accurate and up to date.
You may lodge a complaint with the Expert Committee.
The University recognises the importance of maintaining the security of personal data and has therefore put in place appropriate security measures, consistent with the need to maintain confidentiality, to prevent the loss of personal data and any unauthorised or unlawful access, destruction, use, alteration, modification or disclosure.
