Bruker 600 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer

The NMR spectrometer is a scientific instrument used to determine the molecular structure of chemical compounds. It is based on nuclear magnetic resonance, a phenomenon exhibited by certain isotopes such as 1H, 13C, 19F and 31P. Because organic compounds consist largely of hydrogen and carbon, NMR is widely used to elucidate their molecular structures.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer for Advanced Structural Analysis

Advantages of NMR Spectroscopy

Precise technology for molecular structure analysis

High Resolution

High spectral resolution separates signals clearly, yielding well-defined structural information.

Non-Destructive

Analysis leaves the sample intact, so it can be used for further work.

Quantitative

Enables accurate quantitative analysis.

Multiple Nuclei

Capable of analysing multiple nuclei (1H, 13C, 19F, 31P).

Sample Requirements

Liquid Samples

Amount:≥10 mg in 600 μL
Solvent:Deuterated solvents (CDCl3, D2O, DMSO-d6)
Purity:≥95% recommended

Solid Samples

Amount:≥50 mg
Solvent:Suitable deuterated solvent required
Purity:≥90% acceptable

Biological Samples

Amount:≥20 mg
Solvent:D2O or biological buffers
Purity:As isolated

Important Notes

  • Samples must dissolve well in a deuterated solvent
  • Avoid compounds with exchangeable protons (e.g. OH, NH)
  • Advice on sample preparation is available
