NPI Welcomes TILSNA Executives to Discuss Medical Research and Innovation Collaboration
The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed executives from the Thailand Institute of Life Sciences and Nanoscience Alliance (Public Organization) (TILSNA) to discuss collaboration in medical research and innovation, with the aim of translating results into practical use in the health system, developing technology, connecting funding sources and advancing policy and commercial applications.

The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed a delegation of executives from the Thailand Institute of Life Sciences and Nanoscience Alliance (Public Organization) (TILSNA) to discuss collaboration in medical research and innovation in the Board Room, Administration Building, KKU Science Park, on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. The meeting aimed to bring research into practical use in the public sector and to advance the nation's medical innovation.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin, Director of the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, together with the Institute's executives, researchers and staff—Dr. M.L. Manida Suksawat, Deputy Director for Academic Services; Asst. Prof. Dr. Apinya Jusakul, Deputy Director for Research and Business Collaboration Development; Asst. Prof. Dr. Umaporn Yordpratum, Deputy Director for Science, Research and Innovation Infrastructure and Standards Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sorujsiri Chareonsudjai, Assistant Director for Academic and Research Platform Development; Dr. Wassana Jamnongkan, Assistant Director for Analytical Services; Dr. Suppanat Kosolwattana, Assistant Director for Administration; Dr. Premkamon Chaipanichkul, Head of the Lifelong Learning Unit; Dr. Marisa Attapong, Head of the Postgraduate Program Development Unit; Dr. Navaporn Sritong, Head of the Bioengineering and Biosignal Systems Unit; and Dr. Korawit Ophatsathian—welcomed the delegation and presented an overview of the Institute's research, technology and development directions in phenomics and precision health.

The discussion focused on translating research into practical use in health care services, developing medical technology and innovation, connecting with funding sources and government support mechanisms, and expanding opportunities for research to be applied in concrete policy and commercial terms.

The delegation also toured the Institute's phenomics infrastructure, laboratories and advanced analytical instruments, including the metabolomics and phenomic analysis laboratories, synthetic biology research, and advanced bioinformatics and AI-driven precision health data analysis systems. These reflect the Institute's capacity to support end-to-end health research and technology development, from the laboratory to applications in the health system and industry.

The visit and discussion highlighted the important role of the National Phenome Institute and the KKU Science Park as mechanisms linking the public sector, the research community and industry to drive tangible and sustainable growth in the nation's medical and health innovation.
