NPI Welcomes Environmental Science Faculty and Students on Science and Technology Study Visit
The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed faculty members and second-year students from the Environmental Science Program, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, on a study visit to Meeting Room M3, Administration Building, KKU Science Park, on Friday, 6 March 2026. The visit aimed to broaden their experience in science, technology and innovation and give students the opportunity to learn about the research process and the application of modern technologies in environmental studies.

The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed faculty members and second-year students from the Environmental Science Program, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, on a study visit to Meeting Room M3, Administration Building, KKU Science Park, on Friday, 6 March 2026. The visit aimed to broaden their experience in science, technology and innovation and give students the opportunity to learn about the research process and the application of modern technologies in environmental studies.

Ms. Wirongrong Mongkhontham and Dr. Chakhriya Saensupha, together with second-year students of the Environmental Science Program, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, took part in the visit. Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin, Director of the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, opened the activity and welcomed the visitors.

Researchers from the Institute gave talks on topics related to environmental research and biotechnology, including the detection of microplastics in the environment, the study of pathogen contamination from infectious waste in products and the environment, and the application of Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology for detecting pathogens in the environment. The Medical Bioinformatics for Industry program was also introduced to open up perspectives on further study and future applications of knowledge. To conclude the activity, the students toured the research instruments and laboratories of the National Phenome Institute to learn about the science and technology infrastructure that supports its research.

The activity offered students a valuable opportunity to broaden their academic horizons and inspired them to apply knowledge of science, technology and innovation to solving environmental problems and contributing to national development in the future.
