NPI, KKU Welcomes TSRI Site Visit to Monitor Progress of Fundamental Fund and RSPG Projects
The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) on a site visit to monitor the progress of projects under the Fundamental Fund and the RSPG project, following up on the work of organizations in the science, research and innovation system and exchanging knowledge, at the Administration Building, Northeast Regional Science Park, Khon Kaen University.

The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) on a site visit to monitor the progress of projects under the Fundamental Fund and the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG). On 9 April 2026, Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) visited to follow up on the work of organizations in the science, research and innovation system and to exchange knowledge at the Administration Building, Northeast Regional Science Park, Khon Kaen University.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin, Director of the National Phenome Institute; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anoma Dongsansuk, faculty member of the Faculty of Agriculture; and Dr. Wassana Jamnongkan, Assistant Director for Analytical Services, National Phenome Institute, welcomed the visitors and presented research findings, with a focus on real-world applications in agriculture and food.

Highlights of the presentation included: • Molecular-level studies of plant resources for medicine and biotechnology • Metabolite and bioactivity analysis • Characterization of five indigenous Khon Kaen rice varieties • Research on key compounds in the conserved plant Yang Na (Dipterocarpus alatus) and their sustainable use

The visit reflected the importance of monitoring, supporting and advancing research toward real-world use to create economic and social value and to conserve the nation's biological resources over the long term.
