
The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed executives from Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) on a visit and study tour on 9 April 2026 at Khon Kaen University. The TSRI delegation included Prof. Suthipun Jitpimolmard, M.D., TSRI Advisor, and Prof. Dr. Vissanu Meeyoo, Deputy Director of TSRI, joined by university executives Prof. Pewpan Maleewong, M.D., Vice President for Research and Innovation, and Prof. Thidarut Boonmars, Vice President for Enterprise and Sustainable Society. Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin, Director of the National Phenome Institute, together with Dr. M.L. Manida Suksawat, Deputy Director for Academic Services, and Dr. Wassana Jamnongkan, MT, Assistant Director for Analytical Services, as well as the institute's researchers and staff, welcomed the delegation and presented an overview of the institute's operations.
The discussion focused on integrating computer science with phenomics research, developing artificial intelligence and bioinformatics technologies to support health research, translating research outcomes into real-world use, and building academic and research collaboration networks at the institutional level. The delegation also toured the institute's Phenomics Infrastructure and laboratories, which house advanced research instruments such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Gas Chromatography (GC), Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS) and Sequencing Technology, forming a vital foundation for driving the nation's health research and innovation.
The visit and discussions reflect both organizations' shared commitment to strengthening strategic collaboration to advance knowledge, technology and innovation that can be put to tangible use, generating long-term economic and social value and sustainable development for the nation.
