The Hub of Talents in Microbiome Medicine and Microbial Technology for One Health (MMOH), in collaboration with the National Phenome Institute (NPI), Khon Kaen University, held a hands-on workshop entitled “Microbiome for Personalized Healthcare” on 15–16 December 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the KKU Science Park. The workshop was funded by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
The workshop aimed to build the capacity of medical and health science professionals and researchers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to analyze and apply microbiome technologies in support of precision and personalized medicine (Precision/Personalized Medicine).
The program combined lectures and hands-on training on key topics, including the principles and techniques of microbiome data analysis; the application of microbiome data in medical research and patient care; the role of the microbiome in health and personalized medicine; and opportunities to share experiences and build collaborative networks among experts from a wide range of disciplines.
The workshop also provided in-depth knowledge of the microbiome, metabolomics and multi-omics data integration, covering both theory and practice. Topics included the application of NMR Metabolomics and metabolite analysis, statistical and bioinformatic data analysis, Nanopore Full-length 16S rRNA Sequencing technology, microbial diversity analysis, and the integration of Omics data for precision medicine, as well as case studies and interactive group activities.
The workshop marks another important step in strengthening the capabilities of Thai professionals in biotechnology and modern medicine, while fostering academic collaboration to advance personalized medicine and the sustainable development of the nation's healthcare system.
