
Thailand is set to launch the Hub of Talents in Microbiome Medicine and Microbial Technology for One Health (MMOH), the country's first hub to integrate knowledge and expertise across four core fields: health and medical science, food and drugs, industry and technology, and agriculture and environment. The hub aims to advance Systems Health and drive innovation in line with Thailand's Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy model.
The launch event will feature a presentation on the direction of support for and expectations of the microbiome hub by Ms. Sirinphon Diaotrakun, Deputy Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), along with a keynote address entitled "Trends and Challenges of Medical Microbiome Technology in Thailand and Support from Khon Kaen University through the National Phenome Institute" by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University.
The program will also include a talk on the potential and growth outlook of microbiome-based products in Thailand and internationally by Ms. Nitchaporn Chongudomroek, Chair of the Executive Board of Mod Gut Co., Ltd., as well as an experience-sharing session with leading national experts reflecting on the role of the microbiome in the future development of Thailand's healthcare system and bio-industry.
The MMOH launch will take place on 21 July 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok. Registration is open to the public free of charge.
The establishment of MMOH marks an important step for Thailand toward becoming a leader in systems health science and BCG-driven innovation powered by microbial knowledge and technology, delivering long-term benefits for the nation's health system, economy and sustainability.
