
On 9 August 2025, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, took part in a panel discussion on "Know Your Health in Depth, Know Your Own Body with Phenomic Medicine" on the Mini Stage, Zone B, at the MHESI Fair. The session aimed to share knowledge of modern medicine with the public and build understanding of in-depth, personalized approaches to health care.
The program featured talks and discussions by experts from a range of fields. A key highlight was the talk "Phenomic Medicine: A Game Changer for World Health… Where Does Thailand Stand?" by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin, Director of the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, who presented an overview of phenomic medicine worldwide and reflected on Thailand's role and potential in the context of precision medicine.
The program also included a panel discussion, "Well-Rounded Microbiome and Beyond… Meet and Greet Doctors at MHESI Fair", featuring medical specialists from various fields: Prof. Vichai Senthong, M.D., specialist in cardiovascular disease Assoc. Prof. Suchaorn Saengnipanthkul, M.D., specialist in pediatric nutrition and the microbiome Dr. Chakkraphop Chitphimonmat, M.D., specialist in neurology Dr. Rachot Wongchiratthikan, M.D., specialist in dermatology
In addition, Dr. Wassana Jamnongkan, a specialist in phenomic medicine and molecular diagnostics, gave a talk entitled "Disclosing Your Health Profile: Detect Early, Prevent Early, Care for Your Health", explaining how in-depth analysis of health data can support disease prevention and personalized health care.
Phenomic medicine is an approach to health care that integrates data on an individual's biological characteristics, genetics, environment and behavior to build a comprehensive understanding of their health, enabling precisely targeted disease prevention and health promotion. The event was another important contribution by Khon Kaen University to bringing medical science knowledge to society and supporting the sustainable development of the nation's future medicine.
