The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, congratulates Asst. Prof. Chananya Karunasumetta, M.D., of the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, together with Ms. Chotika Chatgasem and Mr. Theerayut Bubpamala, researchers at the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, on the publication of their research in the international journal Annals of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
The study, "Comparative Analysis of Metabolomic Responses in On-Pump and Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting," investigated and compared the metabolic profiles associated with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) performed with a heart-lung machine (on-pump CABG; ONCAB), in which the heart is stopped, and without a heart-lung machine (off-pump CABG; OPCAB), in which the heart continues to beat. The aim was to identify metabolites that differ between the two surgical approaches and are associated with clinical outcomes.
This achievement reflects the research team's capability and commitment to integrating clinical expertise with metabolomics technology to generate new knowledge that benefits the development of precision medicine and the care of patients with heart disease.
The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, congratulates the team on this success and encourages all researchers to continue producing valuable research at the international level, further enhancing the reputation of the institute and the nation.
