
On 18 November 2024, Ms. Esther Sun, Trade and Investment Commissioner to Thailand, together with Ms. Butsarin Sinthunawarat, Senior Business Development Manager, Australian Embassy, and Ms. Netdao Chamroendararatsami, representative of the International Affairs Division, visited the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, to discuss avenues for academic collaboration and exchange knowledge and experience in phenomics research and the use of advanced analytical instruments. The visit lays an important foundation for expanding research collaboration and will help advance the development of cutting-edge medical services in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin, Director of the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed the delegation and presented the institute's mission, vision, role and academic services. She also introduced the capabilities of the institute's infrastructure and its high-throughput research instrument platform, which is central to supporting advanced research in omics sciences.
In addition, Dr. M.L. Manida Suksawat, Deputy Director for Academic Services; Dr. Wassana Jamnongkan, Operations Manager; and Dr. Marisa Attapong, Dr. Navaporn Sritong and Ms. Thanaporn Kulthawatsiri, researchers at the National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, led the delegation on a tour of the laboratories and key research instruments, explaining the basic working principles of the various advanced analytical instruments.
