Department of Medical Sciences’ Proficiency Testing Division Discusses Collaboration with NPI

The National Phenome Institute, Khon Kaen University, welcomed a delegation from the Proficiency Testing Division, Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health, which visited to discuss collaboration on proficiency testing networks and biobank development to strengthen national capabilities in laboratory analysis and quality assurance.

The discussions focused on developing and improving proficiency testing processes in line with international standards, including ISO/IEC 17043:2023, the key standard for proficiency testing providers, to enhance the reliability, accuracy and consistency of laboratory test results.

The two organizations exchanged knowledge, experience and operational approaches to lay the foundation for integrated collaboration between the public sector and research institutes in developing medical science infrastructure. This will help raise standards in laboratory services, research and health innovation for the country’s sustainable development.

The meeting marks another important step in strengthening Thailand’s collaborative network for proficiency testing and biobanking, supporting high-quality research and medical services that meet international standards.
